      • National Park Service Educators Portal

The National Park Service has partnered with the Department of Education to integrate National Park resources into core curriculum and, each summer, dozens of teachers participate in professional development opportunities in parks, creating education materials based on park resources through the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program. The agency is also working with partners and educational institutions to expand programs and encourage the use of parks as places of learning.

      • Empire State Information Fluency Continuum

The Empire State Information Fluency Continuum was developed by the NY City Department of Education/Office of Library Services School Library System.  The School Library Systems Association of NYS (SLSA) believes this is an important educational tool that defines the information literacy and inquiry skills that are important for all students to learn. SLSA endorsed the Empire State Information Fluency Continuum at their May 3, 2012 meeting.  Individual School Library Systems have also been endorsing this through their Councils and sharing the information with the librarians in their service areas.
