2025 Skimmer Car Challenge Winner - Chris Blask!

-
Eighth-grader Christopher Blask from Akron Middle School's Creative Design and Engineering class is the 2025 Skimmer Car Design Challenge winner! Blask and his classmates applied their knowledge of forces of motion, computer-aided drawing, and 3D printing to design and construct aerodynamic cars. Christopher's car traveled 127' 5" down the Middle School hallway! The $100 charitable award for this design challenge is sponsored by Akron Mayor Brian Perry and his wife, Jayne. The $100 will be donated to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in Christopher's name. Chris chose this charity because he wants to help children with cancer. Second place finisher was Abby Bower at 126' 2" and third place went to Hannah Witkowski with 120' 8 3/4". Congratulations!
