School Social Workers are masters-level mental health professionals who provide free, confidential services in a school-based setting. Services are geared toward helping students with behavioral/social/emotional needs to overcome challenges in order to succeed in school.
Akron's School Social Workers may be able to help with any of the following:
- Linkages to community resources
- Attendance issues
- In-school group and individual counseling
- Identifying and addressing barriers to classroom success/learning
- Crisis de-escalation
